If you are trying to conceive, chances are you have heard of Pre-Seed, the only personal lubricant currently on the market that is designed with ingredients and a ph-balance that is suitable for conception. Although demand for this product is quite high, tracking down a place to purchase this sperm-friendly lubricant can still feel like a bit of a wild goose hunt. The Pre-Seed website allows you to search for independent retailers in the U.S., but the international listings (including Canada) are no longer readily available on their website.
If you are in the Toronto area, you can purchase Pre-Seed in one of its two packaging options (described below) from us - Red Tent Sisters - Toronto's only women's health boutique specializing in fertility and related products. If this is your first time buying a personal lubricant, you will be relieved to find that our store is a welcoming space with female-only staff.
If you live in Canada, you can order Pre-Seed from our online fertility and sexuality boutique. We do our best to ship on the same day as orders are placed, meaning that you can get your Pre-Seed in as little as 1-3 days if you choose express shipping, and 3-5 days if you choose standard shipping.
If you live in a metropolitan centre other than Toronto and you want to find a physical retail outlet close to you, you can contact Pre-Seed for a list of international distributors.
One thing to consider before purchasing is which format you would like your Pre-Seed lubricant in. When Pre~Seed was originally released, it featured pre-filled applicators and many women found there was more in an applicator than they needed. They've since changed the packaging to offer a tube that comes with 9 empty applicators that you can fill yourself with as little or as much of the lubricant as you need. Pre-Seed also makes a stand alone tube, without the applicators, called Pre. Keep in mind that the lubricant works best when it coats the cervix and the vaginal walls, so applicators are the better bet for assisting conception.
Lastly, remember that a woman's egg is only available for fertilization for 12-24 hours of each cycle, so Pre-Seed is irrelevant if you are using it during an infertile part of your cycle. If you are not familiar with identifying your fertile times, be sure to read a reputable book on the subject, like Taking Charge of Your Fertility or the manual for the Justisse Method of Fertility Management. Or, better yet, consult a Holistic Reproductive Health Practitioner (like Amy at Red Tent Sisters) to help you identify the unique parameters of your menstrual cycle. At Red Tent Sisters we provide individual and group instruction in fertility management.
